The Steps of Microblading

Microblading is an art form to create beautifully designed eyebrows. It’s a manual eyebrow tattoo that creates natural-looking hair strokes to look like the real eyebrow. The process entails tiny, fine-point needs that scratch and deposit pigment under the skin. So, what’s the end result? Realistic-looking brows that don’t wash off. It’s basically a semi-permanent form of brow tattooing. Microblading is also the hassle-free solution to spending too much time penciling in your eyebrows to get the shape that you want. Who wants to waste time trying to get their brows to look good with an eyebrow pencil? And, who even has the time today?

Unlike a tattoo, microblading doesn’t go into the deep layer of your skin. It’s not permanent, and the color typically fades in 18 months. But, the hair strokes are far finer and natural than any tattoo, and certainly better than what any eyebrow liner can do.

The Steps Involved in Microblading

First, the brow is shaped by threading the hairs and cleaning the area. This prepares the brow for the treatment. After that, the brow is numbed with a topical ointment. This takes about 40 minutes to work its numbing magic. During that time, you can look at color swatches and pick out the best shade for the look that you want. Usually, during the last 10 minutes of the numbing cream, the technician will measure the area around your brow and note facial features, symmetry and facial shape. Next, the needling process begins. The pigment is gently implanted with featherweight strokes. Each stroke is a subtle line and the pigment color seeps in. More numbing cream can be added if needed, but most people don’t need more. Lastly, a final layer of pigment is put on. That takes about 5 minutes to set into the surface of the skin. The area is cleaned off, and now you’ve got beautiful eyebrows. There’s a top-session in about 6 to 8 weeks after the microblading session. This appointment is used to fill in any gaps where the pigment didn’t take. Minimal aftercare is needed after the procedure, and it doesn’t even really hurt. So, don’t let those small needles scare you.
